Funding and Accountability

2013/2014 Projected Operational Funding

2013/2014 Projected Operational Funding

Education funding is provided to school boards through a number of funding allocations or grants.  The majority of these allocations are based on the number of students that the jurisdiction serves.  Some allocations take into account other factors, such as where the jurisdiction is located.

Funding for the 2012/2013 school year is an estimate of what each board will be paid this year.  As the school year is not yet complete, these numbers may vary.

Funding for the 2013/2014 school year is a projection and may not reflect the amount paid to the jurisdiction.  Where possible, jurisdiction specific enrolment assumptions are used based on the Workforce Planning Model that is provided to school jurisdictions to help in the planning and development of their budgets. Where jurisdiction specific assumptions are not available, the projected provincial average is used.

The amount of funding paid to a school board will be based on their actual student enrolment, which may be higher or lower than the projection.
