Highlights:
Provincial results for October 2011 Accountability Pillar indicators show Alberta's K-12 education system is performing well in many areas.

  • Significant improvement on high school completion and drop out rates.
  • Significant improvement on five of the seven satisfaction measures, which are based on surveys of teachers, students and their parents.
  • Significant improvement on Provincial Achievement Test results at both the Acceptable Standard and Standard of Excellence.

Alberta's education system is accountable to all Albertans - including students, parents, educators and taxpayers. Reporting the provincial Accountability Pillar results is part of demonstrating the accountability of the education system.
