Review Committee on Outcomes' Consultation

Alberta has a world-class education system and we continue to build on this excellence. Our aim is to make Alberta's system as effective and dynamic as it can be so that our young people can greet the future with confidence.

Appointed by Minister of Learning Dr. Lyle Oberg, the Review Committee on Outcomes was comprised of stakeholder representatives. This committee gathered public input on some very important topics like enhancing student learning, ensuring children have an opportunity to learn, providing opportunities for involvement by parents, community and staff, promoting quality teaching, enhancing leadership and governance, and ensuring availability of appropriate facilities. The end goal was to provide the committee with solid ideas on what Albertans expect from their learning system and how we know when we've achieved it.

A set of outcomes were completed and endorsed by the Minister in the fall of 2001. Indicators and measures for these outcomes were finalized and approved by the Minister in the spring of 2003.
