Collaborate for Kids' Sake Videos

Education Minister Dave Hancock hosted a special event in Edmonton at Government House in late August 2008, called Collaborate for Kids’ Sake!  This two-day session brought together a panel of experts from across Alberta and Ontario to demonstrate the importance of schools as service delivery centres where broad-based supports and early intervention initiatives are offered to children, youth and their families.

Moving away from traditional delivery models, expert panelists provided examples of collaborative, multi-disciplinary projects within schools that provide a full spectrum of supports for students and families facing mental health issues, addictions, family violence or instability, anger management problems, or stress.

Most experts agree that these efforts improve the health and well being of the students, and their families, which ultimately leads to improved learning outcomes.
