| Purpose |
To increase students' literacy skills by increasing the amount of time students spend reading at school through the provision of one-on-one tutoring and encouraging parents to engage in meaningful literacy experiences with their children at home. |
| Description |
Implement research-proven early intervention strategies such as the Early Literacy program to improve the reading skills of identified students by providing one-one-one instruction with classroom assistants. Literacy packages will be developed so parents can engage in meaningful literacy activities with their children at home. Parents will then be encouraged to volunteer in the school as a tutor, both for their children and others. |
