When resources are needed to support a particular course, program of studies or educational initiative, Alberta Education invites publishers, producers, developers and suppliers to respond to a Call for Resources, Call for Proposals or Request for Proposals. Alberta Education maintains a database of companies that may be interested in responding.

Alberta Education develops a select number of resources to meet priority needs when such resources are not commercially available. These resources include special education resources, parent resources and guides to implementation for specific subject areas. Writers and editors of these resources are contracted through the Alberta Purchasing Connection.
