Becta Closure

Becta was the British government agency leading the national drive to ensure the effective and innovative use of technology throughout learning. Becta closes formally on March 31, 2011.

Becta has an internationally recognized and respected research repository on technology-enabled learning, teaching and management. It holds over 400 items, including annual surveys and reviews, impact research, evaluations, studies of new and emerging technologies, case studies, literature reviews and publications available to the public. Steps have been taken to ensure that the organization’s documents will remain available following the closure of Becta’s website.

To ensure continued access to Becta resources, the Institute of Education (IoE) will house Becta’s research documents in a digital archive.

Becta’s website has been captured in the National Archives, although some features and functionality will no longer be available. Organizations or individuals linking to resources on the Becta website will need to obtain new direct links to these resources on the National Archives’ or the Institute of Education’s website.
