Learning and Teaching Resources

CTS Pathways
Career development requires students to develop enthusiasm for lifelong learning that carries them beyond learning in school. Ultimately, students make their links between school, career development and post-secondary options. Creating personalized pathways in CTS allows students the opportunity to expand their career goals and interests and make connections among CTS courses and other subjects.

CTS Learning and Teaching Resource Review Centres
The establishment of the CTS Learning and Teaching Resource Review Centres is the result of collaboration between Alberta Education and the Calgary Board of Education and between Alberta Education and the Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools.  Both the Calgary and Red Deer review centres have a mandate to:

  • function as a provincial access point for CTS teachers to view resources
  • work with the Alberta Regional Professional Development Consortia (ARPDC) to support implementation
  • provide opportunity for CTS teachers to develop sustainable professional communities of practice.

Professional Development Opportunities
As a result of grants from Alberta Education to support implementation of the revised CTS program, professional development opportunities are being provided by the Alberta Regional Professional Development Consortia (ARPDC).  Contact the consortium in your region for information on learning opportunities (e.g., workshops, conferences, webinars, videoconference sessions) that can support your professional growth plan and implementation.
