The Alberta Learning Information Service (ALIS) provides information on funding opportunities for international education programs and activities.
There are also awards and scholarships on the external links page that provide financial assistance to Alberta students who would like to get involved in international education.
This scholarship is a collaborative scholarship program supported by the Education Office of the Consulate-General of The People’s Republic of China in Vancouver and Alberta Education. The award was created in 2013 from contributions by the Education Office in the Consulate General of The People’s Republic of China in Vancouver and the Government of Alberta to facilitate Chinese language and culture promotion in Alberta.
The award has a value of $500. Applications are open to Grade 12 Alberta students who are currently enrolled or have completed level 30 of the Chinese Language and Culture program. Completed applications should be mailed to Alberta Education - International Education Services by April 30.

Complete the T. Mikuriya Award application form on the documents page and mail your original application to Alberta Education - International Education Services by February 1 of the academic year when the exchange program was completed or currently participated in.
The award is for Alberta high school students who have participated in and completed an existing high school exchange program with a Japanese school. Students must have completed an exchange for one academic year, but applicants for one-semester exchanges will be considered.
The award is for a maximum of $1,500 for a one academic year exchange program, but exchanges that are less than one academic year will be considered for a lesser amount.
