The CTF challenges are meant support teachers working with the CTF Program of Studies. The CTF Challengers allow students to demonstrate their understanding of the learning outcomes in context with various career pathways. The challenges are flexible and can be adapted for use within core subjects while deepening competencies and developing literacy and numeracy. Teachers can use the challenges as is or modify to address specific learner needs or classroom size.
Three types of challenges are available and give teachers and students the opportunity to adapt a challenge to their needs:
Teachers use their professional judgement and knowledge of their students and local community to select the most appropriate resources to meet the needs of their students. The decision to use and/or modify the CTF exemplar challenges is at the discretion of the teacher and the principal, in alignment with policies set by their school authority. The elements of literacy and numeracy and the competencies presented in the challenges are suggestions only. It is essential that teachers take into account the learning context to work with literacy, numeracy and competencies with students.
