The purpose of the Innovation in First Nations Education (IFNE) grant program is to build on the success of the Building Collaboration and Capacity in Education (BCCE) grant program and to increase opportunities for First Nations students to receive coordinated education programs and services that are responsive to their needs.
This initiative supports the Government of Alberta’s commitment to increase the success of First Nations students. A total of $36 million over three years is available to First Nations organizations providing educational services (e.g., tribal councils), individual First Nations and provincial school authorities that choose to apply.
Funding is available to support partnerships between First Nations and provincial school jurisdictions through the development of three-year projects that focus on:
