The Math Bursary Program is a new bursary for pre-service and in-service teachers. The goal of the bursary is to provide funding to encourage eligible current and future Alberta K-12 teachers to take a qualifying math pedagogy course.
Bursaries in the amount of $1,000 are available to applicants who meet the eligibility criteria. To receive this award, applicants must be:
OR
All math bursary applicants must download an application form and apply online. If you are eligible, you will receive a notice of pre-approval prior to completing one of the qualifying math courses.
Applicants may qualify for a maximum of two math bursaries ($1,000 each). Separate bursary applications must be submitted with each course selection.
Please note, if you are an Alberta certificated teacher who no longer has active student status at an Alberta-based teacher preparation institution, you may have to apply to take courses as an Open Studies student. Please check with the post-secondary institution you wish to attend to see if courses are open to avoid losing application fees.
