Gotcha -
Outcome A (7-9)-6
Students choose a partner and label themselves
as "A" or "B". Student A stands on one line
and Student B stands approximately 10 steps away in front of another
line. Student A has a handball.
How to Play
- "A" throws
the handball over "B", runs to a designated line behind
"B", and runs back to the start line without being tagged
by "B". Student "B" has to retrieve the handball
before he/she can tag "A".
- If "A" reaches
home before being tagged, he/she receives one point.
- If "B" tags
"A", then "B" receives the point.
- Students change roles
and continue playing for a best of five championship.
Use the activity as a warmup with handball balls
(throw-in/scoring drill).
This activity can be introduced and played using
a volleyball serve with a soft ball, a takraw serve, or a throwing
action with a soft foam ball.
These are clues that you have reached
the outcomes ...

of the handball.
Students show an improvement in strength, and
are able to increase the distance and accuracy of their throw.
