Steal the Gold
- Outcome C (4-6)-3
Arrange students into groups of four and send
each group to a designated corner of the gymnasium or field.
Each corner will have a basket or pile of the
same number of beanbags, sponges, rubber chickens, quoits, or whatever
non-rolling object you decide to use.
On the signal "go", students leave their respective
corners and run, skip, gallop, dribble a basketball, or whatever
skill you are working on, to another corner where they take one
beanbag each. They return the beanbag to their corner and place
it in their basket. Then they go to a different corner and do the
same thing and so on until the beanbags are gone or time is up.
To incorporate even more fair play into this activity,
have the students go one or two at a time to obtain the beanbags.
Students have to monitor and take turns so that all team members
get a chance to go.
Music is a great motivator. Play it between rounds
to get the students moving.

and Steal the Gold |
These
are clues that you have reached the outcomes ...
Students encourage one another and communicate
with each other to meet their goals.
Students abide by the rules and take only one
beanbag at a time. They take turns instead of pushing in front of
or going in place of a slower or more hesitant student.
