Alberta Student Number (ASN)

Each student attending an Alberta school is assigned a unique 9-digit Alberta Student Number (ASN) allowing you to access K-12 education services in the province, such as:

This number is created on your behalf by the school when you first enroll.

Have an ASN but not sure what it is?

  • If you currently  attend an Alberta school your ASN will appear on all documents from Alberta Education (e.g. Official Transcript of High School Achievement or Detailed Academic Report) and may also appear on documents from your school (e.g. report card or student identification card).
  • Contact the Alberta school you attend.

No longer attend an Alberta school and unable to locate your ASN?
