The Alberta Transcript of High School Achievement contains the highest marks and credits awarded.
The transcript has the following features:
A student’s legal name, as registered under the Vital Statistics Act (or, if the student was born in a jurisdiction outside Alberta, the student’s name as registered in that jurisdiction), is, by default, displayed on transcripts, credentials and provincial assessments.
In most situations, when a student uses an official document issued by Alberta Education that includes their legal name (e.g. for student loans, post-secondary admission, employment, etc.), they will be required to provide supporting government-issued identification. This identification and their official documents from Alberta Education should align to avoid confusion or complications.
Students can visit https://www.servicealberta.ca/changing-a-name.cfm to find out how to legally change their name in Alberta.
