For this activity you can use standard playground equipment and stations with signs that indicate the activities - push-ups, sit-ups, long jump. Create a circuit of activities that builds muscular strength. "Today we will be learning more about an area of fitness called muscular strength and endurance. Strength is a measure of the amount of force your muscles can give in a short period of time using all your effort (eg. Weight that can be lifted), and endurance means the ability of your muscles to keep working for a long period of time, repeating that effort many times. We are going to practice activities that help improve both muscular strength and endurance" Take the students through some warm up exercises explaining the muscles that are being used in each exercise.
