Family Dance -
Outcome D (4-6)-8
Arrange for a family dance at the school. During
their dance unit, each class in the school could create individual,
partner, group and/or class dances to perform during the event.
Whoever is organizing the event can ensure that there is a balance
of different types of dances such as creative, folk, novelty, and
line dances.
If there is a brave group of parents, perhaps
on the Parent Advisory, they may even put a dance together and perform
it at the event.
Once the dances have been performed, open the
dance floor to anyone and everyone.
Teach a dance unit of line dances and other dances
that may be played at a family event, such as "YMCA",
the "Bird Dance", the bunny hop, or other novelty dances.
At the dance, have the students teach specific
line dances to their parents.
These are clues that you have reached the outcomes
...
Students and parents attend the evening.
