Active Living For a Lifetime
This activity has been adapted from The Canadian Active Living Challenge. Contact the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance at 1-800-663-8708 for ordering information for CALC.

One way to ensure an increase in one's personal level of functional fitness is to maintain an active lifestyle.

Students can use the Annual Activity Plan from the Canadian Active Living Challenge to plan activities that will ensure continued improvement in functional fitness. The goals they set should focus on the functional fitness elements (cardiorespiratory, flexibility, strength and endurance) they would like to improve.

Students should review their plan monthly to monitor whether or not they are achieving their goals.

Have students pair up and complete the Physical Activity Challenge. They could do one Activity Challenge each month that would help them stay on track with their Annual Activity Plan.

Forms generously provided from the Canadian Active Living Challenge by the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
