Definition: Cardiovascular Endurance

Improving the ability of your heart and lungs to supply adequate oxygen to working muscles during prolonged activity.

So what does that mean? Your ticker is going to be in tip-top shape! That means your body's going to run better and improve its chances of lasting longer. Aim for working on your cardiovascular endurance four to seven days per week.

Definition: Muscular Strength

Repeated movements of your body against a resistance.

This is a fancy way of saying that activities like throwing a ball or lifting objects will make you stronger. Aim for strength training two to four times per week.

Endurance, whether cardiovascular or muscular, is a good thing. It helps you go the distance. It helps you get rid of your fears. You get it - it's all about a strong, healthy lifestyle.

Definition: Flexibility

The ability to move joints through a full range of motion, with restriction.

Oh, and here's another health benefit: flexibility. Participating in alternative environment activities can help you improve your overall flexibility. Aim to work on your flexibility four to seven days per week.

Body Image

Body image is important to each of us. If you get to know what your body is capable of doing, you develop a self-confident feeling about it. There's nothing quite like rising to the challenges of a physical activity to boost the ol' body image.

This is especially important in a culture where films, television, and magazines show people who don't have the body weight of an average person. That's why it's so important to appreciate your own body. An excellent way to appreciate yourself is through physical activity.

Not everyone has a job in the film and television industry, so not everyone should feel they have to look like they're in the film and television industry. Many celebrity photos are airbrushed to create the perfect nose or thighs with zero cellulite. If you saw these same people on the street you'd be surprised at how different they look!
