British Bulldog
- Outcome A (4-6)-2
One student is selected to be "it" and
moves to the middle of the gymnasium or play space. The other students
line up horizontally on an end line facing the person in the middle.
When the student who is "it" gives the
command "British Bulldog", the other students try to make
their way to the opposite end of the gymnasium without being tagged
by the student who is "it".
Any student who is tagged must move to the middle
and is now also "it". Once the students who have not been
tagged are all at the same end, "British Bulldog" is called
again and students run back the other way. The game continues until
there is only one student left to be tagged. That student then gets
to be "it" for the next round.
Change the way students move from one end of the
gymnasium to the other. This includes the student who is "it".
(Have them gallop, skip, walk, or slide.)
Give each student a piece of equipment and instruct
them on how to get across the gymnasium. This includes the student
who is "it". (Have them dribble a basketball with the
right hand one way and with the left hand the next time.)
These are clues that you have reached the outcomes
...
Students move from one end of the gym to the other
performing the correct locomotor steps.
When students are tagged, they move to the middle
of the playing area and assist with the tagging of others.
Students are able to successfully play the game,
given the criteria.
